I didn’t even know the link was from .ml. I haven’t blocked the instance completely, just some communities.

I’m not sure if blocking them deletes their comments like the piefed code suggested, but I’m done. I don’t have time to deal with drama on the fediverse, and I don’t care what comes from this. I just thought others would get a chuckle about how petty this is.
They have a point. If you linked to the big long comment with source code examples, that would be more useful.
Edit: never mind, you did. Following these links between interfaces and instances is difficult and confusing. PTB for sure.
They seem to be deliberately ignoring that your link was to a specific comment, and the meme isn’t even a prominent part of the page.
I’ve seen worse, but still a weak PTB.
That moderator @snoopy@tarte.nuage-libre.fr sure acts entitled by policing tone. Their pointless gestures of defending honor
I also asked users to edit their comment, here, when they critized lemmy and i expect you to do the same.
are unnecessary. Still, they’ve only requested, so they aren’t (yet) powertripping.
They’re basically telling you to be kinder in how you make your points, while engaging with your argument in good faith.
What’s the problem?
They did ask me to remove my source link though.
I would not have complied with that. Or maybe I’d have edited in a quite to replace the link as malicious compliance.
But theyre also not trying to deny the presence of the “social score” you’re criticizing. They’re actually enaging with you, so until they fly off the handle in response to you reacting reasonably, react reasonably.
Yea, I’m not editing my original comment. The last thing I did was just address that I linked the comment, not the meme, which someone here pointed out.
OK, don’t edit your comment.
They asked, without demanding. And while you could take their mention of removal as a threat, I take it as a dare to be reasonable, since they are pointing out that you might be aiming to push their buttons more than make a point for others to see.
“You’d be better off on reddit” is what probably set them off here, and I don’t see why’d you stand by that. Piefed isn’t worse than reddit, claiming it is doesn’t make any kind of logical argument, it just illustrates that you’re either on the trolly or unhinged side of the subject.
Regardless of which it is, they’re literally inviting you to make your case, as long as you tone down the stuff that’s more likely anger than convince.
I don’t have time to deal with drama on the fediverse
X doubt
Also getting asked to do something is really not included in my definition of powertripping. BPR
Really don’t see the bait in what OP posted.

Powertripping is a mod abusing their position and power.
Sure usually they just remove posts or ban people, but using their position and the implied threat of removal to pressure someone into weakening their argument (by removing sources) or removing personal opinions the mod doesn’t like (which aren’t toxic in any way, we’re not talking bigotry here) definitely still is powertripping.
Asked to edit an opinionated comment or have my post removed? Kinda weird imo.
I give everyone two replies and then block if I feel any negative emotion afterwards so I don’t get sucked in. I’m not trying to start anything. I just want people to be aware.
I don’t think engaging with someone and their opinion is a particularly high form of powertripping. I mean I like dissent way more than the modern form of making it disappear. Either by mods actually clicking on the ‘remove’ button, or by devising filter bubble algorithms so everyone gets to blast their arbitrary opinions out there without a need to catch any flak.
