“We’re warewolves, not swearwolves!”
I watched this movie, and also the first couple episodes of the series. I think this movie is better than what I saw of the series.
I agree. I watched the entire show and while not bad it never really felt like they had any idea what they really wanted to do with it. You can’t really do much character development with characters that are a few hundred years old.
It’s funny, that’s basically the point of the show’s ending. The characters live in an endless cycle of repeated behavior and nothing ever meaningfully changes for them.
Guillermo was the character development. He was our avatar in that world of vampires. Much like Stu but better. 100% the vampires don’t grow, much. The vampires themselves were more scenery in many ways. Things for Guillermo to react to.
I feel like the movie had character development in at least two of the ancient vampires and one of the new vampires.
The series seemed like just another sitcom. Not terrible, but not as fun as the movie. Unfortunately when you do a sitcom you’re constrained by convention in a lot of ways (i.e. it’s tougher to make character development.)
There’s a worthwhile comparison to the UK and US versions of The Office.
I watched it all and was happy I did, will likely do so again, but I’m goth, you do you.
