I’m bored. That’s it. I’m watching the 100 girlfriends anime.

Pretty terrible. My executive dysfunction and ADHD makes it impossible to do simple tasks, even with nearly limitless time. Bedrotting, doomscrolling, watching the world collapse from the dumbest most evil people on earth starting wars. I have hundreds of acquaintances but not really anyone I feel that I can really talk to. We’re living every black mirror episode at once, and everyone is too tech illiterate to know how bad things will be in the near future. I had sky high aspirations for myself but they’re crumbling before my eyes. Never really been in a relationship. I’ve gone home alone from every night out I’ve ever had. Sorry for the word vomit but needed to get something out.

    I mean doing alright, you?

Just finished setting up backups for my home network projects. Something I’d been putting off for a while. :D

Pretty fucking good, actually. Which alarms me.

You see I’ve observed that my life seems to get better when the rest of society gets worse, and vice versa. Not because of anything I do, it’s just how my luck works. When the economy tanks, I’m financially secure; when the economy is running hot, I’m broke. My wellbeing seems inversely correlated to the wellbeing of society at large.

And I’m doing great. Better than ever, actually. Hence my alarm: according to the inverse wellbeing law, shit’s about to get real.

Today I had a friend over and we started the process of painting the bookshelves I’m building.

My husband and I moved into a new house in December. This is the first home we’ve had that we can really treat as a forever home, so I’m going to go nuts on the built-ins. For the last two months I’ve taken over the living room and been working on a big bookshelf build. The fireplace had a set of low existing shelves around it, but I’m turning them into a set of magnificent floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. They’re made from solid wood and built in place, made from countless pieces hand fitted together. Made with just a miter saw, drills, clamps, and a nail gun. I even learned how to do basic electrical so I could install the lights myself.

Anyway, I finally finished the carpentry. The trim’s all done. All the joints are caulked, all the nail holes filled. And so on to painting. And this afternoon a friend came over and helped me get the painting started. So great day, plus the weather is gorgeous out today. Very warm with a bright blue sky.
