I don’t think I’m British enough to really understand this.
Summer 2024 we had riots outside hotels that were housing asylum seekers.
These riots were stoked by far right politicians and influencers, fanning the flames of fear and hatred. The supposed reasoning was to protect the community from the “violent criminals” that were being housed in the hotels, except the asylum seekers weren’t criminals. It later emerged many of the rioters had traveled from elsewhere as well, so weren’t even part of the community they were purporting to protect but just traveled in for a good fight.
Racist loser deadbeats looking to pick an easy fight with those less fortunate than them disguised in the flag, patriotism, and protecting the community. Fascists.

It also turned out that some of these “we’re just protecting the women and girls” had histories/convictions for domestic abuse against their female partners.
