Looking for something a little more configurable than the default GOS launcher. I’ve always been a little hesitant bc it seems like malware bait. Which ones do you trust?

I’ve been using KISS Launcher for years and I’m really happy with it. It’s minimal, has enough customization settings to make me happy, and even after 7 years (I think?) I still haven’t come across a launcher that I find more intuitive.

+1 for Kvaesitso. It does some things a little differently so it may take some getting used to, but it makes its own internal kind of sense. Once you get your head around it, it’s hard to go back. Has app category support, and my favourite part is that apps can be assigned to more than one category.

    My top customizable FOSS launchers:

    Kvaesisto
Search-based with native-themed widgets and app drawer. Lots of integrations, reliable, and my personal daily driver.

    Lawnchair
Drop-in replacement for Pixel launcher with some friendly features. Very active development.

    Ion Launcher
Automatic app folders by category and decent customization options.

    Yagni Launcher
Highly customizable and built from scratch. It’s about 2MB and already pretty capable, although it’s a young project and still in alpha

I use μLauncher (from Accrescent). It’s quite minimal and has no distractions.

I also like Ion Launcher, if only because I can make everything look skeuomorphic without having to trawl XDA Developers.

Olauncher (free version) and Pro Launcher (paid version).

Used the free version for years and decided to shell out for the paid version about a year ago.

Primary access to apps is via the search outside of the limited slots for shortcuts (text). Paid version adds some additional slots (icons). Simple and reminds me of a terminal.

Fellow Graphene + Olauncher user here, I specifically wanted my phone to be less hyper-usable since I was a phone addict for a while. I shopped around on minimalistic launchers before I settled on Olauncher, it’s great, been using it for like two years now or something like that.
