Elon Musk was misleading in his public statements during a crucial period of his 2022 Twitter takeover, a jury has found.

After two days of deliberations, a jury in San Francisco federal court decided in a unanimous verdict against the tech titan, who was sued by a group of Twitter investors arguing they had relied on his statements.

While testifying in court earlier this month, Musk argued that he did not mislead investors and that people simply read too much into his public comments and tweets.

The jury instead found that certain of his public claims of problems in Twitter’s user metrics, and that he was possibly backing out of the $44bn acquisition deal, were intentionally misleading.

I feel like this is a good time for a reminder that Elmo offered a bid for twitter to stop that kid from tracking his jet, Twitter accepted the offer, Elmo tried to jk lol his way out of it, and then was compelled to complete the transaction, during which time he kept trying to squirm and squeeze out of it.

Doubtless swift, proportionate legal consequences will ensue, making Musk ponder the error of his ways.

Or he’ll have a sook, as usual, about the jury being crooked and stupid.

Course he did. He didn’t get where he was and obtain the things he has without manipulation and exploitation of others. And he can’t stay where he is without gaslighting people daily and playing victim.

The only trickling down that he practices, as the guy on the tippy top of the ladder, is the trickling down of his piss over the rest of the world.
