Over the course of the next year, city staff will explore how creating new zoning districts could allow for smaller housing options like townhomes, cottage courts and row houses, and how that might help those struggling with the city's affordability.

    I really wanted to go for a townhouse, because I could live closer to the central area and not have to take care of a lawn. Alas, townhouse prices are almost the same as SFHs. And when you add a $250-$400 HOA fee on top of that, you’re pretty much paying more for less square footage. I hate mowing (but refuse to pay for it), but unfortunately that’s the situation I was dealt with.
