Looking at family tree of Christian sects makes leftist splitting look downright non-existent

Frankly, the formulation of Roman Christianity seemed to just be a test of what ridiculous contradictions in terms they could get people to say they believed, abdicating their reason as an indication of their obedience to authority.

It’s a lot of stuff that was done to get various powerful sects in alignment and then it stuck for the next forever years. Like, the ex cathedra ability of the Pope to proclaim an inviolable infallible supreme truth from God is only from 1870.

It’s hilarious how much chuds love their positive Christianity, but somehow reformists who say that “gay bad and women bad aren’t that important” are excommunicated.

If you get to cherry pick the Bible, so do I.

The rise of evangelical Unitarianism as a conservative political force has got to be one of the strangest developments in American Christianity.

"Let it be very clear, then, that when the church preaches social justice, equality, and human dignity; when the church defends those who suffer poverty or violence, this is not subversive nor is it Marxism. This is the authentic magisterium of the church.
