Republican states can (and will) use this as an excuse to redraw their maps with 100% Republican representation.

they really dont have a numbers advantage. both partys are just terrible. the difference is republicans do what their base wants. while democrats shit on their base constantly.

Sure, but the logistical reason is that Dems do better in large states and Republicans do better in small states. It’s the small states that have the edge for republicans. Also, democratic states tend to be more heavily gerrymandered already, so. So not much gain in gerrymandering more.

say it with me: ‘republicans have the edge in rural states because democrats ignore working class interests and do nothing to support them, republicans at least blame illegals for stealing muh job!’.

the fact is the largest voting group are working class indepedents, and neither party appeals to them.

Next step is redrawing districts and removing voting rights to black people I guess. That’s completely insane…

Come on, they won’t do that.

They’ll just make every voter take a reading and comprehension exam tailored to each individual to make sure they really “understand” what they’re voting on!

That’s quite convenient for the republicans. They cannot win on the merits (because they have none), so they cheat. They’ve always cheated.

voter suppression is why most states has low turnout too. also the avg republican voters dont actual research on what they voter, they are true blind faith voters. we confronted a trump support family member, he said he doesnt follow his politics at all. i surmise he gets most of info from right wing influencers.

I never really believed in gerrymandering for these purposes anyway.
I appreciate the intention, but when we leave these things open they end up getting abused in the other direction.
We should federally mandate shortest-splitline algorithm for redistricting and permanently end all gaming of the system.

And very reliably my brain puts the missing character in the abbreviation and makes it the SCROTUS it actually is.
