We’ll grab burgers from Culver’s for lunch and pick up an 8 piece of chicken tenders for dinner.

Ingredients:

• 4 breaded chicken tendies from Culver’s or regional equivalent
• Red pasta sauce
• Spaghetti
• Mozzarella

Make the pasta according to the package. While that’s cooking, heat up the tendies in a toaster oven at 350°F (167°C).

Once the tendies are warmed up, spread a spoonful of red sauce on the tendies, top with mozzarella and bake until cheese is melted.

Plate with cooked spaghetti and sauce as desired.

Yup, shared storage is a requirement. I’m using a combination of Ceph and NFS at the moment, but I wouldn’t recommend Ceph unless you’ve got a 10gb connection between nodes.

For me, I have three proxmox nodes that are configured to restart VMs and LXC containers if a host goes offline. There’s a Palo Alto pa-440 for my fw/router and a brocade switch (they were something work gave me for practicing for a network exam).

The nodes, Palo, brocade, and AT&T modem are all on two UPS 1500va systems along with my wifi ap. Run time in case of power loss is around an hour.

I’m this close to getting a comprehensive shutdown script working from a raspberry pi that is triggered if there’s power loss (most UPS systems have some capability to trigger scripts on a host that’s connected to the UPS’s console port).

If I can get that script working, the battery backup will run a PI for several days.

Back on the redundancy side, I host two PowerDNS systems in the proxmox cluster along with a 3 node/LXC container Vault.

Do you want to know something awful? There might not be snow days anymore. Not because of climate change, but because of COVID.

Days where school used to be called off could just be “remote learning” days and instead of getting to go play in the snow like we did when we were younger, kids will have to sit and zoom all day.

We have two relatively large emergency blankets (foil lined on the inside with thick, safety orange plastic on the outside). We put those over the tent and under the rain fly along with some poncho liners.

That setup along with a closed cell foam pad for the floor has let us handle weather below freezing.

Just remember that you can suffocate if you seal everything up too much.

We did shopping on Thursday for essentials, but I also let our tent air out last weekend. We’ve camped in below freezing temps before with that thing, so if worst comes to worst, we’ll set up the tent in the living room.

Well, obviously that kid was the kingpin of the twin cities snack thieving ring that’s been terrorizing good, honest Americans for the past (how old was he?) let’s say, 4 years?

I tried terraform for my three node proxmox cluster and all the providers were shit (and one was written by a for-profit prison company).

I ended up just deploying manually, but I do heavily use ansible for things like let’s encrypt wild card cert renewal/installation and patch management.

I love terraform when the providers are good - my #dayjob is predominantly spinning up hybrid cloud/global AWS environments and we could not do what we do without tools like Cruft, Terraform, and Ansible.
