Approximately 61 percent of the 2,560 people surveyed by Ipsos, The Washington Post and ABC News said the United States made a mistake in using military force against Iran. Just 36 percent of people said it was the right decision.
That 36% is just unmovable. According to 1 out of every 3 Americans, Trump can do no wrong.
Not a cult though.
Remember, for many it’s only because of the price of gas.
The price of gas is an extremely powerful weapon that Dems need to use. To the average American, it is the equivalent to what the Dow is to rich people. It is the prime economic indicator for the majority of Americans. It doesn’t just represent the price of gas, it represents the economic environment we are in.
For decades, Americans have tied their perception of the economy to the price of gas. When gas goes up, it means our country is having a major problem, and that affects EVERYTHING else. Time and experience have socialized us to believe this. The higher it goes, the tighter people get with their money, and they stop spending it. We are in that stage right now. After Consumer Confidence being -11 percent for the first quarter, it dropped to -38 in April. We have already gone off the cliff, and it’s going to start showing very soon.
The price of gas is posted on literally EVERY corner, and it represents far more than a few more cents out of our pockets. It’s a constant daily reminder of the state of our economy, and more importantly, whose fault it is.
B bu but people are upset about impeaching Trump not being a top priority.
I think a lot of people involved in the idea to go to war with Iran were severely underestimating the power of the internet. I’d say it’s the only saving grace with having old fucks in office is that they can’t bullshit us like they used to, for better or for worse. Back when the “War on Terror” started we were all hopped up on patriotism and it started out in a time where getting news from the internet was uncommon and most people relied on whatever local news they had. Everything, including public opinion, works faster with the internet. Whereas with Vietnam and the “War on Terror” you’d get an update once a week or even month, we get updates by the second. We didn’t have to wait to see how much of a failure Iran was. We knew from day one that it was a shit show.
I’d say it’s the only saving grace with having old fucks in office is that they can’t bullshit us like they used to, for better or for worse.
But when you still have swaths of people on fb, reddit, and youtube…the propaganda is still very strong there.
I think the internet has made things worse not better. It has made things better for those of us that live outside the ass of the billionaires, but we are a minority. This war is so unpopular because it is just so obvious what is going on here, a good share of the people on the right are well aware this is all Epstein blackmail fueled. And everybody on the left is aware this is bullshit no matter what lens they see it through.
The internet deserves zero credit, negative credit on balance I should say.
Yeah but if we didn’t have the internet it wouldn’t be obvious what was going on because our only connections to the outside world would be what is given to us. Most people probably wouldn’t even know who Epstein was let alone his connection to Trump. I’m only commending the actual quickness with which information can spread on online, not the internet itself. The modern internet is still an absolute disaster.
I do agree as I was saying, those of us that know better have achieved better informational awareness from the internet, although we have also been completely exposed to the worst people in the world in regard to our personal information, opinions, contacts, and everything else. That is why fascism is triumphing. We have to fix this and soon.
I say it’s only about the price of gas.
Like it or hate it, Donald is far more internet-savvy than any other politician. Plus he’s played legacy media like a fiddle for decades.
He only know the Internet from his phone. I doubt he’s spent a single minute on a real computer in years. He’s probably one of those ancient assholes who brags that he hates computers, and doesn’t even know how to turn it on. I love that “brag.”
he’s not savvy no, it’s just that that propaganda groups are.
I don’t think he is savvy. He just has a rabid base.
Why? who doesnt have to have their offspring died horribly on the other side of the world defending ideals that arent yours and filling someonelses pockets?
