“not a British citizen” sounds like it includes people with indefinite leave to remain/any level of settled status. Meaning people who have lived here a long time, and were not here illegally at any point. I personally don’t care about the last point, and I think we should support refugees too, but that’s where the negative connotations will come from. But regardless: it sounds like this will include people who could be citizens (perhaps if it didn’t cost 1.7k).
So really, does this say anything?
OK, I’ll ask again. How does this percentage compare to non-immigrants, and what benefits are they including? Actually, don’t bother - I looked it up and the number for UK citizens is 23%. So immigrants are paying proportionally more into the tax system than UK residents. We should have more of these hard working people.

The average immigrant is younger and there should be lower claimants, significantly lower, the benefits they bring should be overwhelming, otherwise what is the point

It’s the % of working age people, so anyone over 67 isn’t included in the UK figures, unlike the immigrant figures, so I’m not sure how your second point makes any sense. Pensions are the largest outgoings in welfare costs, so we really do need these eager young immigrants to inject money into the system because UK citizens are absolutely draining it dry.

Because that’s the nature of insurance. You pay into it when you can and draw from it when you need to. It’s also an indication of a civilised society when it looks after the less fortunate.

Yes when it has the capacity to do so, if the less fortunate outnumber the more fortunate eventually the society crumbles and you end up with a whole country full of less fortunates
