That has always been my question. My next question is : can we do without installing any app ??

Very no. Discord is fully controlled by one central entity (“Discord Inc.”) which is actively enshittifying the fuck out of it every way they can. Fediverse means… basically the opposite of all that: decentralized/distributed such that anyone can run their own instance of the fully-FOSS software that runs the application without connecting to any other instances or with federation with other instances if they want.

Discord is basically as not-fediverse as a thing can get.

No discord to my knowledge doesn’t implement ActivityPub in any way, and so isn’t part of the fediverse. Next question depends on your meaning with app. You don’t need a separated app, a web browser will do fine, but you do need some form of browser

Most websites will aggressively push their app to you if they recognize that you are viewing their site on mobile. Not all websites require the app and may be viewed by web browser, but I’m not sure if discord is one of them.

That’s pretty odd. Looks like Feddit is on Piefed, and I was able to open join links in browser. Maybe check your browser settings for opening links in app and add an exclusion for Piefed links. Alternatively you can try and save the browser view as an app shortcut which might solve your issue. The whole “Add app to home screen” which should just give you an app icon to open the web version essentially

Sorry for the first you’ll want to look at the settings “Open links in app” in your browser, and “Default Apps” on your phone. You should be able to tell if it is set to always open those links in an app. For the other I’m talking about this setting on Firefox, will probably look different in another browser

This allows you to make a sort-of-app out of your browsers view of the website.
