    On paper San Diego really benefitted from that too.

    SD got: Phillip Rivers, Shawn Merriman and Nate Keading.

    But in the end, Manning made the right move. San Diego was wild in the early 2000s, they would have monster regular season records and just shit the bed in the play offs.

    I’m surprised more players haven’t done it, or at least the top ranked qbs. Being locked to a bad team for the first five years of your career can put an end to it before it even begins.

        Pretty much any Jets qb would likely fall into that. I’m sure Geno Smith would’ve had a better career as well, although he may have had his own issues at the beginning.
