The actor for Oh Father was on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as an aspiring reverend. Firecracker was on a The Following as a sycophantic worshipper who banged the cult leader.
I just thought it was funny. One actor is like okay, I’m reverend-coded, I can do the preacher voice, and the other was like I’m really good at playing a character with a lot of religious trauma who falls in love with a cult leader and follows him mindlessly until I’m killed.
Also Lamplighter was in The Following too. I watch too much TV. Life has been weird lately.

Like, that bit in Kimmy Schmidt where he raps is a joke on another level because he’s actually insanely talented.
You need an actor with a powerful voice, you get a talented actor that’s an amazing rapper…
