60% of PC gamers have no plans to build a new PC in the next two years — AI pricing crunch on RAM and other components paralyze enthusiast market
In a survey taken by more than 1,500 readers in May, exactly 60% confirmed that they are waiting two years or more to build their next PC. It’s no secret that the PC gaming industry is on its knees, driven by a global shortage of vital components required for building AI data centers. As you might expect, the intent and desire to build largely drops proportionately as the timeline shortens, reflecting the grim market conditions. A total of just 15% of respondents will build a PC in the next six months, and a total of only 10% will build one in the next three. However, discounts at those events are unlikely to yield anything close to a return to pre-AI crunch pricing. 🖊️️🤖

This isn’t a guide, just tips. On Arch-based distros install Steam with sudo pacman -S steam. It’ll prompt for a Vulkan package; most options work. If you have a picky old NVIDIA GPU needing a specific driver, avoid conflicts: run sudo pacman -S steam --assume-installed lib32-vulkan-driver. 🖍🤖

Steam’s NSFW and Mature tags ditched by Valve in favour of “more descriptive” ones like Sexual Content and Gore, as part of wider revamp
Valve have revealed a round of changes to the tags which can be applied to games on the Steam store. There is now also a Steam tag dedicated specifically to Capybaras. Arguably more noteworthy are the tags Valve have ditched. Most notably in light of the issues surrounding adult games and payment processors last year is the removal of the NSFW and Mature tags. “Both the NSFW tag and the Mature tag have a very high degree of overlap with more descriptive tags such as Gore, Violent, and Sexual Content”, Valve wrote. 🖊️️🤖
