Otters are one of the few wild animals I genuinely wish we could domesticate. There’s just something so inviting about their demeanor. From what I understand, they would be difficult to care for without a lot of water features.
Edit: I think people are misinterpreting what I’m saying to mean that I want them in their current form to be pets. I’m just saying I wish with them being as cute as they are that they were tame and not wild and not fucked up.
I hate to do this, but despite their cuteness, otters are an example of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. They have a really dark side related to their sexuality: https://www.iflscience.com/otters-are-not-cute-they-are-sick-depraved-jerks-47995
Well honestly, either side of this is wrong. They are not heavenly creatures or nasty fuckers, they are just animals.
Animals are not necessarily governed by morals. They do care about others at times but there is no reason they cannot also be mean at other times.
This applies to humans too. We are also animals. We can be nice. We can be not nice.
Yeah… I was gonna comment that otters are some evil fucks. I think I saw that same article years ago.
We are not “blessed” to have otters, we are deeply cursed to have them.
