    wait, tech companies have token usage goals? as in you are encouraged to use more? that has to be the stupidest thing i’ve heard lol. It’s like having a logistics company encourage it’s drivers to use more diesel lmao. AI Usage leaderboard? Broooo

    Let’s do some quick math here. Let’s say $5k a month for an employee coming out to $60k a year. 500 million / 5,000 comes out to 100,000 in my calculation. So assuming I’m not making any obvious mistakes on the numbers here, they could have paid 100,000 workers each $5k for that month instead.

    I’m no CFO, but here’s a novel strategy: hire human beings and have them do labor, it seems more cost effective. 😜

      Microsoft has done the same thing, so they’re switching from Claude to Copilot.

      Just a note on your math: a rough rule of thumb is to double an employee’s wage or salary to estimate the true cost to the employer. This includes payroll taxes, various types of insurance, the cost of the workspace itself, etc. Even so, that’s 50,000 people instead of some AI garbage that still should be checked and fixed by a person.
