The letter was disclosed at a deportation hearing Thursday for an alleged Edmonton extortion gang member.

“Police actually received a letter addressed from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang that was sent to a police station,” Const. Kevin St. Louis told the Immigration and Refugee Board.

“This specific letter outlined essentially their criminal organization, where they talked about having upwards of 1,000 individuals that are willing to carry out these shootings as a part of the group,” he said.

“It also alludes to how every business needs to pay their tax, which I think clearly demonstrates the monetary gain that this group is looking to obtain as a result of these extortions.”

They’ve got moxy.

    I guess this shows one downside to having a corrections system instead of a penal system; it’s not set up to manage foreign nationals, so deportation is the most effective option. Meanwhile, the same system means the gangs have immediate new marks with the next wave of students and temporary workers.

      Deport with a permanent mark, tattoo or a clipped ear. Something that other countries can use as a reason to deny entry. Stops repeat ‘visitors’ and helps out other target nations.
