Context: both Hitler and Napoleon when trying to take on Russia, both miscalculated the Russian winter, while the natives kept retreating to grind the invading armies down.
For further context, I get cold really easily and if I forget my jacket, it’s very uncomfortable.
Russia did also make the same mistake when invading Finland.
Napoleon began his retreat in October though.
Mid-late October, and the cold weather started in November.
I always err on the side of too much jacket. Done a lot of sweating and jacket-carrying.
