There’s so much stuff that is real difficult to pull off in live action and is super simple animated. One of the main characters is a talking cat. And honestly, just having him in his boxers the whole time will be less weird if animated.

It would work so much better as a cartoon than any kind of live action, no matter how many special effects they threw at it.

Plus there is already a manga that they could draw inspiration for the characters from it.
