What other platforms? From what I’ve heard there isn’t any other viable, quality platform. YouTube effectively a monopoly
There is no competitor, not on the same scale. There are however initiatives that matter. Platforms created by YouTube creators unhappy with YouTube policy like https://nebula.tv/ and https://www.2ndtry.tv/ ; open-source non-profit developers created PeerTube for example https://peertube.tv/ ; there are competitors in live streaming like Twitch, competitors in professional video hosting like Vimeo. Obviously that is not a one-stop shop like YouTube and a lot of those competors operate under the same laws; but the more traffic those platforms get, the more likely a creator is to (also) post there.
A couple of days ago, I had to look outside of YouTube for song mixes from before 2022 so I wouldn’t end up with that AI-gen crap that’s flooding that web right now.
I’ve been saying for years that query syntax in big name searches doesn’t work or only works sometimes. It’s awful and super useless.

Psst, invidious is a better YouTube frontend, try it. Still, it uses YouTube, and that’s bad in my opinion.
