Took me like 6 months
Is this your first win? The more you play and unlock the easier things get. Plus try out the other unlocked decks, the first one I found harder than the second or third.
Yeah this was my first win, I have a pretty decent amount of cards unlocked. I usually get stuck on ante 7
I am no expert but I can win often enough. Some tips:
- If you can get one joker at the start with mult then don’t spend any more money for the first couple of antes unless something really good comes up. The interest helps build up cash.
- Winning the early blinds in the early antes in one or two hands helps you get more cash.
- I like the Flush hand. Reasonably easy to get and you can win your first blind in one hand if it’s good enough.
- Only spend money on things that build towards your strategy. If you’re going for flush, don’t waste your money on improving straights or whatever.
- Look for jokers that build up over time. E.g. chips per hand played, mult per bundle skipped, etc. These can be important for getting over that 8th ante but they take a while to pay off.
- Remember your score is chips X mult. If you have lots of chips and few mult then you won’t get enough points. But equally you need enough chips to make the mult actually multiply something. Work towards jokers that provide chips, +mult, and Xmult.
- Jokers are assessed left to right. It you have a Xmult joker make sure it’s to the right of any +mult joker.
- Don’t skip blinds unless there’s a benefit that plays into your strategy. Playing more hands helps you build up the scores of the long term jokers.
- You can’t always win. You may not get good cards/jokers/bundles and that’s just life. If it’s going poorly you can just start again.
Congratulations 🎉👏
So it begins
That’s great! I took a long time for my first win too, then I developed a sense of when to cut my losses. Now, it’s easy to tell if I’ll win by the first ante boss.
In addition to what Dave said, the key thing is early wins compound.
Try to finish the first Small Blind in 1 hand. (A Flush or a Straight with each card > 7 will guarantee this). This sets you up with 2$ interest in the big blind.
If I’m struggling to clear Ante 1, and low on cash by the time I enter 2, I just restart (You can quickly restart by long pressing R)
Just to add, this advice is for the easiest stake.
On higher stake difficulties the small blind doesn’t provide a reward, so skipping the first small blind makes sense if the reward is good.
On these difficulties I usually spam R without even playing a single hand until I get a small blind that gives me a holographic tag, or free voucher, 25$ etc.
It feels cheesy, but struggling till Ante 5-6 & fighting to the last hand just sounds like a slow death to me.
Now go for naneinf!
