Hurts just to look at.

I was expecting this from glancing at the thumbnail
Glass shoes are extremely uncomfortable, trust me
Will do, Cinderella
They were probably more uncomfortable for her stepsisters.
A glass Chelsea in particular. Also, ankle socks in a Chelsea would be a bold choice with normal materials
Serves them right for wearing ankle/invisible socks.
Crew socks (or larger) are superior socks.
In shorts, unless you’re kicking a ball, high socks make you look like a dork
Ahh yes, a fellow 40+'er. That mix of GenX/Millineal style before high socks rolled back into fashion.
Does that scare you?
Accept your dorkness or the world will eat you alive.
Ah, you think dorkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dork. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see mainstream until I was already … obsessively hyperfixated on a niche set of personal interests that normally cause neurotypical people’s eyes to glaze over as they completely shut down from infodump saturation ^-^;
also i love that your name, Zorque, seems to rhyme with ‘dork’ when i sound it out in my head ;3
i honestly genuinely think that’s cool as heck!
Well at least I’m a comfortable dork.
I am the one who walks with sandals and socks. I fear nothing.
YAAASSS go get it fam!!
live free of social convention!
honestly LOVE that for you <3
Ok boomer
Think the high pant cuff was already doing a fine job of showing that off.
Until you hit knew high, then you’re giving off an entirely different vibe.
Most women’s socks: “Fits size 4-10”
My sock size: 11
And this, friends, is why I buy my socks from the men’s section. I don’t have the patience to pick up my stupid socks every half hour.
Stop using women’s shoes, dude
Lol, I buy shoes in the men’s section, too. It’s a lot easier to find a size 8/9 in men’s than a size 11/12 in women’s.
Next time you’re going to say you’re a woman! God forbid!

Dude, we all know there are no women on the internet, just like women don’t poop. Why do you keep lying?
I bought shoes in the boys’ section pretty regularly, as a girl, until the boys’ shoe size growth dramatically outpaced girls’. So you could not shop in the men’s section because their smallest size is one half or one size (or more) above yours.
Buy Vans, they’re unisex and look hella good on everyone. I’m a man who wears the platform Vans. They’re dope.
Damn, Daniel!
good meme
while i love how pretty clothes are when they’re marketed to women, i’m actually more often disappointed by, like, how they oftentimes (not every time but too many times) seem flimsier, and cost more, and are literally less functional and practical. like, what the heck is WRONG with them going out of their way to make pants that only have the appearance of pockets but no ACTUAL POCKETS?! i like pockets ;~; i can keep my stuff in them…
so sometimes i wonder if it’d just be better if people could be somehow convinced to stop enabling such pointlessly gendered design that puts an entire dang half of the whole population at a disadvantage. i think male-identified individuals should have pretty clothes too and it’s sad that there’s a social stigma about it
Do you consider yourself a Tomboy? Just curious.
They are flimsier. Look up “fast fashion”.
Frequently buying new clothes is pushed on girls from multiple social and economic directions, including ones that really are conspiracies. For example, an industry working together (alongside partner industries) to make their clothes degrade faster so that they need to be replaced that much more often.
For me, it’s that they often say that they fit up to size 8, and I am a true 7.5 (as in, a 7 will not fit me and an 8 will not fit me).
Do I want socks that are a little tight or socks that are too big?
It’s worse with shoes, though, especially when you are looking at ones designed for a niche context. They will often not have half sizes at all. For example, I have wetsuit boots that are sizes 7 and 8. They both fit poorly. I can get the 7s on, but they are way too tight, and I slosh around in the 8s. I have water shoes in the same sizes. 7 is too small to put on and 8 flops off the back of my heel like a flip flop.
My feet have a full size difference between left and right. Shoes are just expected to be uncomfortable.
This is actually a common thing and there is a shoe exchange club you can join. Problem is that most people, like me, have a larger left foot.
this is why i never wear socks that stop at the heel or the ankle. i can’t stand the feeling of the edge riding down >.<
there was a little while where i had to wear compression stockings for a health-related reason, but i’ve come to really like how they feel being all the way up to my knee …
… and now i’m kinda interested in finding some pairs of thigh-highs too~ ^^;
Get a Thinkpad first
Show me wet socks in boots in the middle of a cold winter to win this contest.
Any socks that do this get repurposed to apply shoe polish. There are other uses, but that’s the one I recall using them for last.
Also you’re in bed with your feet under the covers while it’s happening.
And you’re wearing jeans.
Wet jeans.
I buy the socks that reach up to just below the knees, the Calf High Socks. Good for circulation on my lean body.
“I pretend like everything is okay on the outside, but deep down inside…my shoe my sock is falling off”
Stick to thigh-highs.
Long johns… it’s the only way to be sure.
Mid shin socks or nothing
Turns out laces have a purpose
Try that while working on a farm, in the pasture, in 100° heat.
Get a lot of guys wearing Chelsea boots to shuck corn do ya?
I’m not sure what this comment is referencing but nah. It’s just me on a small farm, small herd. This shit just happens when you wear the wrong sock with boots. And you never know it’s gonna do that til you’re in the middle of something and it does it. I always just end up taking the socks off and stuffing em in my pocket lol.
I live in a rural city. It’s pretty common for high school kids to “volunteer” to go shuck corn on local farms. The boot in this picture is a Chelsea, a slip on shoe that’s only a boot because it covers the ankle and is generally made of leather. There’s a large patch on the side made of stretchy material, and it would be absolutely the worst boot to wear on a farm.
Also, have you tried sock garters? Boots with no socks might be less comfortable than a garter. Though I avoided that problem by just buying new socks constantly
I have not tried that but I will look into it now. I don’t find it too uncomfortable without socks, I’m kinda used to it. But I could understand that for others though. Thanks for the suggestion!
I have what is ostensibly a desk job, but when I was in the Marines, my go-to socks were, believe it or not, dress socks, and inside out so you wouldn’t feel the seams on your toes. A buddy turned me on to it and I never looked back. I was always fortunate enough to not have issues with blisters or anything, so maybe I’m just lucky, but a good, calf-high dress sock was my sock of choice.
But my regular life shoe is the Puma Classic, and if I have on short pants, I’ll don the lowest possible sock. As some others have mentioned, the rubber grips in the heel are great. But if I’m doing a hike, for example, and wearing boots, even my mid-ankle Merrells, I’ll wear a calf-hig sock, no need to play games.
Gotcha, thanks for the advice.
