What a perfect representation of the Western Marxist mindset.
How the fuck is Trotsky better than Engels? I know why these people think Trotsky’s better than Stalin, even though he’s not.
This is literally everything that Gabriel Rockhill is railing against.
One of the only people I can see potentially being put above Marx/Engels would be Lenin given he was the first successful revolutionary. Even then, tough sell.
And I think Lenin himself would argue he was only successful because of stuff tried by Marx and Engles first. Marx, especially, with his experiences at the Paris Commune and then trying to organize back in Germany.
Part of my problem with this is that the question is too vague, better in what regard? Revolutionary action? Theory? Statesmanship?
