Saying there is enough solar power for everyone in the daytime, the federal government will direct retailers to provide three hours of free power every day to consumers.

“The federal government scheme will require retailers to offer free electricity to households for at least three hours in the middle of the day, when there is often more electricity generated than is being used, leading to very cheap or even negative wholesale prices.”

    Sadly, us in Tasmania miss out

    It’s only selected places in Australia, not the whole country

    But, it’s better than nothing

    Soapstone batteries… If it’s literally free from overproduction just heat up soapstone and now you don’t need a furnace to heat your home.

    Same if you had a couple thousand liters of water-glycol mix in an insulated tank you chill down with a heat pump to provide cooling.

    Or do district heat and cooling for dense urban cores.
