I know there are a lot of people very unhappy to see Argentina win, but there’s nothing that makes me happier in international soccer than watching the English lose, and the Argentina haters will have their day in the sun on the 19th.
Same, and this was an absolutely perfect way to do it. There is nothing funnier than the world letting England get to the stage where it thinks it might be relevant again, only to snatch the hope away at the last minute.
They can bring it* home again!

Rooted for England. Loss is almost entirely on tuchel. How are you going to decide to park the bus for 30+ minutes?
Absolutely cowardly tactics that cost them. Could’ve been way worse honestly as Pickford made a few great saves and the woodwork helped once or twice.
It was not like Argentina were lacking opportunities before England scored. Completely wrong decision to park the bus.
I bet most of the players were gassed towards the end but putting on like 6 defenders in the last 20+ minutes while only 1 goal up is crazy. subbing off all their fast wide players and not putting any on until 85’ is also wild. The players didn’t defend well on the pitch but those subs were nonsensical.
Very disappointed. I used to really rate him as a coach, and still do to some extent, but this cautious approach is not it, chief. It ruined some games for him at Bayern too, and ultimately probably partially soured that stint for him.
As a bayern fan that was truly a dark time. I just very much dislike his coaching style and manner of football.
