As of now, the only evidence I can think of to disprove it would be kinda flimsy. So, unless Zootopia is a one-off city, why are reptiles not hated like they are in the beginning of Zootopia 2? Real flimsy, I know, but I’m trying.
Also, from what I remember, the fish in Sing 1 ( IDK about 2 since I have yet to see it ) are sentient beings, whereas in the beginning of Zootopia we see in Tundratown a brief shot of a fish market in the foreground as the train is showing us the various districts. I need to rewatch Z2 to make any claims on it, so nit including it.
So, that begs the question of whether the fish of Zootopia either consent to being sold after death or aren’t sentient the way everyone else is. If they ain’t sentient in Zootopia, not the same universe, unless it’s a situation of some being sentient. Closest we’ve seen to that is the drugging of the first movie, so I doubt that’s the case. Otherwise, why would the fish be okay with just letting themselves be sold to be eaten after death? Slightly less flimsy, but not that conclusive either.
My evidence is very flimsy, so I wouldn’t put too much stock in it. Also, if this is for some sort of fanfiction, I’d be down to read it when it’s done. Wouldn’t be able to give a good review since I suck at criticizing someone’s work, but still down.
You bring up a good point about fish. I forgot that fish were sentient in Sing. In Zootopia, fish don’t seem to be sentient. The second movie also shows them being eaten by marine mammals, who are sentient.
I thought the second Zootopia had scenes of them being eaten! Thanks for confirming I was right. Still a kinda flimsy piece of evidence, but I got nothing better.

I originally thought they couldn’t be because the first Zootopia film only has sentient mammals, not other sentient animals. However, the second Zootopia movie reveals they do have sentient reptiles. However, Sing also has sentient spiders in a montage of auditions. In Zootopia 2, worms clearly aren’t considered sentient because Judy and Nick were willing to eat them (they were grossed out but they didn’t act like it was murder) so it seems unlikely that spiders are considered sentient. But maybe I’ll be proven wrong again in another sequel.
So I think it is very plausible that Zootopia and Sing are set in the same universe. Culture and relationships between different species may vary from one city to another. Zootopia may be prejudiced against reptiles but the city Sing takes place in be more accepting.
Maybe the
peopleanimals where Zootopia takes place consider worms to besubhumansuborganisms, and thus okay to eat. ACAB
I haven’t seen Goat and so I can’t really comment on it but I’ve also thought Kung-Fu Panda could be in the sane universe as Zootopia. It takes place in another country, so culture and race relations would be different
