being rich, is all about dong measuring to other rich people who are doing the same contest. otherwise, they are total cheapskate when it comes to paying for things. biggest cheapskates are billionaires, 100millionaires and 10s millionaires.

That’s the thing about being rich. You can choose who you want to be. Most rich people choose to be dicks, or maybe they have always been dicks. Either way, they’re dicks now and they like sausage parties.

I think part of it might be how you got to the point of being rich. For some people, that’s their whole driving force and they’ve been trying for it their entire adult lives. For others, they just had an idea and it happened to hit at the right time and place. In the case of the former, getting what they always wanted was validation of everything terrible they did to get there; but for the latter, they’re just happy that they did something people think is worthwhile enough to pay them.

Elon Musk is an example of the former, Tom from Myspace is an example of the latter: Musk is like “$1T? Chump change, I’m going for $10T.” While Tom is like, “thanks for the $580 million, I’m gonna go chill and take pictures for the rest of my life.”

I don’t know if this holds up under scrutiny, but it feels right at least based on my experience.

I think it’s also that you’re never going to hear about the rich people who choose to live a quiet life after making their fortune because they’re too busy, you know, living quietly.

Founder of craigslist is showing why making it in life alone does not lead to billionaire status. If you get rich but have values, you reach a point of feeling rich enough.

If I contacted Criagslist support for some reason and Craig himself answered, I’d freak the fuck out.

And fb marketplace is just straight up worse. The only benefit Facebook had was the messenger integration. The search sucks, the filters suck, the location settings are buggy, half the time listings don’t even show the date they were posted, and the entire ui is trash
