My girlfriend doesn’t have Reddit so I am posting this on her behalf… the other day I saw her watch blinking while she was napping. Like a flashlight almost. I didn’t think anything of it (possibly related?) but today she said her watch has been leaving a burn on her arm… maybe this is due to some sort of sensor issue? Maybe it’s malfunctioning and scanning her skin more than it should? Idk how they work… In any case this seems like a huge issue and we will be going to the Apple Store ASAP to address it…
I don’t know if it’s the same thing that I had but :
When I bought The Apple Watch 1 year ago, I cleaned it 2 times a week : this caused me to have a small “infection” just like yours
After that, for the next 11 months, I cleaned the band and the watch almost everyday : no problem since !
Sorry for my bad english
Fungus, tea tree oil or OTC anti fungal should do it.
Yeah I have the same apple watch burn on my right buttcheek. Now I am wearing it to the left one. This is an evil device.
Looks like a fungal infection called ringworm. Not uncommon. Just go get some over-the-counter antifungal cream and apply as directed on the box.
And also put on athletes foot cream to prevent it from spreading to your feet, or you’ll start a cascade of problems. They’re the same thing just different spots.
I usually use disinfectant wipes every time I’m done changing it.
Go to the pharmacy not the Apple Store
Can we have a pinned post on the sub telling people you’re not burnt, you have a fungal infection
are you using a third party band? Could be that you are sensitive to Nickel, I get horrible scaly rashes like that with cheap bands.
Ring worm
Same thing happened to me. I was wearing it too long. Literally about 23 hours a day for weeks. If you must sleep with it, sleep with the face on the bottom of your wrist to give the top a rest to breath.
Fungal infection not burn
Unless she has the watch on the side of her wrist that’s from underside of the pin buckle of a Sport Band, dollars to donuts. It’s either a fungal infection (think athlete’s foot) or an environmental contaminant transferred from the watch band.
Either way, topical creams should help. If it’s particularly stubborn, then go see a doctor. Clean the band throughly with antibacterial soap and water. She should to this after every shift, if she works in healthcare. Also occasionally remove the watch when washing hands to make sure you’re getting clean under the band itself.
I had this using a cheap Amazon silicone band and when I swapped it for an Apple one it went awayZ
Yeah that looks like a ringworm to me
