Edit: For context, @db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com discovered that the developer of Tesseract had discretely banned numerous instances and disguised it as a server error. This included more heavily leftist instances, but also blahaj.zone. More recently, it was discovered that they had also been suppressing individual users, phrases, and communities that criticize power tripping on fedi.

Needless to say, I implore non blahaj.zone users to drop the Tesseract client (support for the client has already been dropped for blahaj). So called “liberals” like this who call out “extremism on both sides” are an insult to the values they claim to be upholding.

I have been informed that apparently all of blahaj was banned, that’s why your or my specific username wasn’t on the list. We all were :)

Let me see if I get it.

Someone maakes a Lemmy client, which function is just to interact with fediverse side if lemmy, then the developers just silently blocks everything they don’t like, probably because it’s too woke or something like that.

Why even development a client to begin with??

    Nice! I’m on it, too!

Now, how do I trigger a GDPR and force them to remove my name, just to annoy the dev?

Why are people like this? This person once helped me out (kinda) for a comment rendering thing for my own client (I was unfamiliar with nested comments and how they worked with the API). It’s so sad and frustrating to see people you had non zero respect for do something so shitty like this. Like… especially for a group of people SO FUCKING CORNERED ACROSS THE WORLD. What’s the thought process behind this? So so shitty.

I think they have a grudge against Ada for being too friendly with leftist instances, and/or find the vibe too unsightly in some way. Maybe we’re too weird in ways he doesn’t like, or maybe we’re too anarchist adjacent (a lot of people on this side of lemmy are anarchists, as queer people have every reason to dislike and distrust most governments right now). Regardless, we’re too controversial of a vibe for their view a “non-toxic” fediverse.

The idea of a non-toxic fediverse is so silly. Yeah there should be a variety of experiences within it, but the whole thing about federation is that it enables us to find places that align with us.

I’m still on .world because they haven’t pissed me off enough to bother changing and they were the main ones defederated from exploding heads when I signed up. I’d probably go blahaj if I were to change these days. But like, the ability to change and to go to an instance that aligns with your beliefs in who it’s on speaking terms with is the point.

Banning blahaj and db0 won’t make the fediverse respectable, and it’s something an instance or user should do, not a moderation tool

There is no thought process. That’s the problem.

I gave up trying to understand bigotry. It’s just senseless.

The ability for humans to do bad is equal to their ability to do good. And we all do both. The best you can hope for is that they do at least slightly more good than bad over their lifetime.

The actual adminowner of my instance took time out of their very very busy day to present me personally with a medal for my inclusion. I shall wear it with Pride

First I was like “oh, guess I’m not active enough to be noticed”, but there’s people on the list who barely posted anything.

Guess I just didn’t manage to say something that would have annoyed this person. Like talking about burger units and shit. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m just a weird anarchy hippie nerd trans girl, don’t ban me. Oh crap I said it out loud

The funny thing, with all regex / wordlist bans, is that it will catch waay more than it is intended to. The old Scunthorpe problem. I wonder how it must feel to browse this with random words triggering the filter.

From a quick glance, this guy does not like politics, NSFW stuff, making fun of mod abuse, anime, internet speech / “reddit-isms”… this must be a very empty place then

Holy shit my username made the regex list. I have never been more proud of anything I’ve ever achieved online with my shitty fucking posts

    EDIT:

    "^Left(y|ie|ist)|^Anarchis(t|m)|^Tank(y|ie) ?(Humou?r|Meme|Joke|Circle|Jerk)",

They’re really not trying to be subtle here now are they
