its insane that people are quitting their serious jobs to be racist online and expect that to be good long term. so many of these ”influencers” are already losing everything or in jail, losing custody of their kids etc. this used to be a problem reserved for celebrities but now everybody is potentially fucking up their job prospects forever.

    I’m cynical so I’m having a hard time believing their compatriots will actually ostracize them. Like when celebrities are “cancelled” but pivot to a slightly different career.

    Memory is short and the urge to protect fellow racists from “unjust” persecution is real.

    I’m more afraid of what happens if things go the other way. I’ve got plenty of leftist stuff attached to my real name. HUAC could easily come back, or worse.
