    …well shit. I wish I could find this funny. It’s great China did this but I read too much psychology, including the ICD, and instead I’m pedantic and annoyed by the improper wording. The correct term is “child molesters”.

        These are serial child rapists. I know how you feel but I don’t feel sorry for them. Though it’s always more practical to repurpose their labor power to give back to the society they damaged.

            No? What the fuck? How did you come to that conclusion? I’m saying I share your feelings regarding hatred for the death penalty. I literally offered a better solution, but I won’t take back what I said.

            My comment was simply “it’s great China did this”. It was a vent of relief. I’m a CSA survivor. The analysis was focused on a different part of the topic. Which, yeah, that’s another thing. “Support pedophilia” is a vague term. I’m sure in this context you meant “support child molestation” which I didn’t imply either.

                Did I stutter? Executing anyone is reactionary. You not feeling bad for them is a meaningless moral argument. How you feel is not how materialist analysis and socialism works.

                You were being disrespectful and insulting while putting words in my mouth. I wasn’t attempting to argue with my feelings, I literally just said my feelings before offering what I thought was a better solution. I gave you my grounded argument already.

                Frankly, executing molesters, while not the best thing to do with them, beats the hell out of them very frequently getting away with it or coming into power. And these particular individuals were in positions of great power, able to access so many people.

                You said “I know how you feel” before stating you had no sympathy for serial child molesters. That is directly implying that me not wishing they be executed is because I somehow feel bad for them, and not because the entire practice of the death penalty is reactionary and barbaric.

                I said I know how you feel after you expressed disgust for the death penalty. I was sympathizing with your criticism of the death penalty. It’s something I can feel good and bad about in this instance and, again, I made clear I knew a preferable option was possible. My initial comment on the subject was “it’s great China did this” verbatim. It was a vent of relief in the funny section before getting onto my actual argument. It wasn’t an analysis. It’s similar to how many of us say we hope so and so rots in hell despite my actual beliefs on the matter that eternal torment is disproportionate for any crime. Maybe I should have been more clear, and that’s on me, but my feelings on the matter weren’t meant to be an argument. I was here to correct a clinical ambiguation.

                EDIT: I think I realized the biggest miscommunication. “I know how you feel” was meant to be an expression of sympathy from me, not an accusation.

    …wait a minute. The paper makes it a point that the victims were under 14. Is what Wikipedia says true when it says China’s unrestricted AOC is 14? If so, that’s a bit sad. You could make the argument that 14 year olds in China are much smarter and better educated than elsewhere but I still think that’s too young.
