In this time of rising cost of storage drives where even used hard drives are a bit pricey for some of us, I found a way to get a little more storage space on your console.
After you delete the .iso of a game you no longer play, navigate to this folder in the picture using Irisman
path /dev_hdd0/game
You will see many folders named BLUS**** (the numbers represent the gameID)
Select the folder for the game you no longer wish to play and delete. You will free up even more space on your PS3 hard drive.

BONUS TIP: If you managed to get a larger hard drive, for example a 1tb, you would notice you some of the memory is already “occupied”. The PS3 reserves some % of your hard drive for emergency.
You can reclaim that “reserved” space by using this tool => PS3 Unlock HDD Space v1.0 by 3141card
For a 1TB hard drive, that reserved space is ~103GB and that is a lot of space for games for a PS3. Search for the PS3 Unlock HDD Space tool and reclaim your HDD storage.
