Out of all the Linux init systems out there, which one are you actually daily driving right now and why? Have you tried any others before your current one? What made you stick with it over the rest?
I’m not an init expert. my favorite init is systemd, OpenRC and Slackware SysVinit because their scripts are easy to understand. I do not like ordinary SysVinit
of all the ones i used (systemd, runit, dinit, openrc) i think dinit is my favorite, it’s systemd done right, without it being too complicated and too slow to run but tbh init systems aren’t that big of a deal (at least for a desktop experience), i’m sticking to runit now because it’s the lightest
What you are referring to as Linux is actually systemd-linuxd
I use systemd, because it’s the default on my distro and I really don’t care enough to bother trying others. I use to use sysvinit back in the day though, as well as upstart. Systemd is so much easier to work with than either of those.
I just use systemd because it’s the default.
