The daily mail is such a rag.

‘There’s no way to know they’re safe if you take them for life because we’ve studied them for at most a few months, and most drug studies of this sort do not focus very thoroughly on adverse effects,’ Professor Joanna Moncrieff told the Daily Mail.

The remainder of the article cites multiple multi-year studies of stimulant use for treatment of ADHD.

Joanna Moncrieff is an anti-psychiatry pseudo-Marxist who gets wheeled out all the time in right wing rags. She is frequently cherry-picked to get the most reactionary interpretation of her position, and I think her position more widely against the “disease-model” of mental health is worth reading. But she does tend to come up with some batshit analysis at times that I really can’t stand by, like this position on ADHD meds that have been proven time and time again to be great at treating ADHD symptoms.

Under neoliberalism things don’t change to benefit humanity, they change when an individual is upset and has ties to power.

*Exception is a mass scale moral panic, that gets in the way of business.
