None of this half-assed good for nothing wishy washy disclaimer in some corner of the website.

Chapotraphouse@hexbear.net•Look at my Kittens - Novo General Megathread for the 1st-9th of August 2026English
6·vor 3 TagenMaybe I should make a thread about this, but I don’t think it’s important enough to warrant it. There was a small anti-fascist demonstration not that long ago, but among the crowd someone decided to stand out and literally call the counter-protesters a bunch of animals. Which then gets plastered over the news, as you’d expect.
Am I wrong to find this unwise? Aren’t you supposed to build forces before you start poking at the tiger?
Okay I have some time so I’m gonna toss some in:
- Electrolytes
- Agave Nectar / Coconut Sugar / Honey
- E621 (By extension E= Bad, in general, always.)
- Quinoa Superfoods
- “Cage-Free” (There’s no strict legal definition in what that even means in a lot of places)
- Fruit Juice is healthy
- “Locally produced” (When it’s repackaged.)
Oh and recently they seem to have pivoted from electrolytes to Vitamin and “High fiber” drinks as their latest push.
I think the next push might be a Soylent 2.0
There’s actually a relevant Video on this, released recently by FPTV.
Overly Brief Summary: Imperialist expansion over everything. At the expensive of sustainability and nutritional benefits of the food grown. (Don’t have time to expand right now)

They don’t provide any solutions in the article in how to address that: How do you transmit complex knowledge to the oppressed without recreating elite dependency? Only through direct learning and education programs has it been done.

art@hexbear.net•how to art? (context provided within)English
1·vor 4 TagenLet me show you some of my artworks:

There’s lack of depth to them. It’s possible to tell I lack confidence by the way the brushwork is done. There’s a very noticeable lack of depth and especially the Monotone one is really suffering for how flat it looks, it could have bene improved by adjusting the direction of the “hatching”. It’s possible to tell that I am either lazy or rushing in a lot of places too. Like how poorly the grass is drawn in one of them.
It’s important to keep in mind what kind of community you’re sharing your art with, when you look for feedback. It’s very easy to get torn into shreds by fellow artists, if you do not, then you’re probably not interacting with artists. Pretty much everyone can tear each other into shreds no matter how beautiful your art piece is. It’s also very easy to get showered with compliments, if you stick to fandom communities.
Why do you want to do art? Getting good enough isn’t an issue, you can do that with practice, the problem is - what’s your goal? If you spend your time building fundamentals following the steps you’ve been suggested, but your goal is to be “popular” it’ll help you, but even someone as terrible as myself could be popular with a focus on marketability and communication skills. Similarly I could feel “at home” surrounded by masters, who enjoy telling me how dog poopoo my art is, and then seeing me apply their lessons in my work.
I don’t think there’s any correct path, artists who claim that (imho) have an insecurity problem. I also personally wouldn’t take advice from someone like me, there’s a ton I still need to work on myself and I wish you good luck on your own journey.

traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns@hexbear.net•Misogynistic trans guys keep showing up at our center?English
33·vor 5 TagenI might be overly blunt here I hope I’m not, but if you want to run a non-discriminatory mixed gender space then this has to be addressed. If someone feels mad about being excluded and their response is to exclude people there’s unresolved issues.
Does it mean I am against them having a men only space? No. Being transgender is difficult enough already. But your space isn’t women only, is it? So why are you getting the blame for it?
Being a victim doesn’t give anyone free pass to take it out on others. That’s not justice. Justice means resolving the problem between the people involved in the incident and keep it contained to the incident. I know that this is unsatisfying answer, but I really don’t think there is a satisfying answer.
Ultimately the question is: Are the guys using their space for healing so that they’re capable of interacting with other people, in a non-discriminatory fashion, provided they themselves get equal treatment, or do they want to be dudes only club for the rest of days?

“Socialism is an ancient Aryan, Germanic institution.”
From 1923 Interview with Adolf Hitler.
They’re just seeing that these ideas are popular and co-opt them, as usual. It’s not difficult to bastardized anything with a bit of lies and sell it to a layman.

Chapotraphouse@hexbear.net•GOD BLESS THE DPRK - North Korean Missile Unit Moves Into Russia—120 Ballistic Missiles Could Soon Target UkraineEnglish
8·vor 6 TagenThis is really strange, the Nationalists just now launched their election campaign over here in East Europe. A random village in Ukraine is hit on July 30, where a house suffers together with a farm field. (In other words this has no military importance whatsoever)
Now they’re claiming DPRK Unit carried out this attack? I have a really hard time believing in this without further proof. I encourage others to be more skeptical. Even if this was confirmed to be 100% accurate, there’s nothing really to celebrate here, given who the alleged targets were.
I hate to live in a world where siblings have to fight between each other and hope this tragedy is brought to an end asap.

I do think it’s a shining embodiment of capitalism, a lot of Americans I’ve met are exceptionally gregarious and at the same time being extremely resistant to budging their mind. I don’t see much of a creative drive usually, it’s mostly about consuming stuff and discussing how you feel about things. There isn’t much of a material incentive to learn, so people don’t…
Conversation also serves as a form of commodity, networking, you speak because you want something not because of the speech itself. You don’t want to offend people, because it ruins your potential business opportunities - so it’s best to keep the conversation shallow and simplistic. Over time this has become a subconscious feature of the culture itself where being anti-intellectual is the norm.
It conveniently also makes it much easier to control people, because the assumption is that if you’re an important looking person with a big crowd, in front of a podium, well you must know what you’re talking about.
