For the time being, there is still widespread agreement among all democratic parties in Germany: Cooperating with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) remains out of the question. However, whether this will remain the case is becoming increasingly uncertain. The established parties have so far been unable to halt the AfD’s surge in the polls over recent months.
This has also been confirmed by the latest ARD-Deutschlandtrend survey conducted by the polling firm infratest-dimap. One thousand three hundred eligible voters were asked what party they would vote for if a federal election were held next Sunday, and 28% said they would vote for the AfD. This represents a one-percentage-point increase and a new record high for the AfD in the monthly polly.
In contrast, Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s party, the center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU), and its sister party, Bavaria’s Christian Social Union (CSU), have seen a slight decline compared to the last poll in early July while all other parties have maintained their previous levels.

just like murica
Well, all of Germany isn‘t voting so I don‘t see how this matters. AfD have done nothing but campaigning since they started crawling out of their holes and the media eats it up. Every single time. This is yet another of thousands of fear mongering „articles“. Last time I checked AfD lost support in Berlin while left and greens gained support but you rarely hear them talk about things that matter when they can‘t instill fear in us. This is the very strategy of our failing media landscape that gives AfD so much support in the first place. Because while it‘s bad and getting worse, it‘s never as bad as they report and that‘s the problem. It‘s like a self fulfilling prophecy on steroids. Has been for over 10 years. What they call „feeling marginalized“ is generally known as AfD supporters being entitled shits. Always have been.
So yeah this is just plain bad journalism if you can even call it that.
