Something something beg forgiveness something something obtain permission.
Let me not be quite so glib. These really do seem to be more accelerated, wilder desperation to prop up capitalism than before, which suggests the collapse is all but here? I won’t speculate a timeline, because behemoths seem to take a really long time to fall, once the decisive blow was dealt, so long that it looks like “overnight,” but it’s been a long time coming. Will Europe unhitch their buggy, yet?
I think what we’re seeing is that Europe is losing strategic significance for the US. The war on Russia failed, and the primary adversary has always been China. So, Europe has little to offer at this point, and hence why the US can just dump euro without caring what the Europeans think. And yeah, while it’s hard to speculate on the timelines, there do appear to be structural problems that you can’t just paper over. As far as Europeans go, I think the current regimes will have to fall first. The people in charge painted themselves into a corner politically. They staked everything on a war with Russia, and once it ends they’re going to become politically toxic. So, they need the war to keep going at all costs, and that means they need the US in whatever capacity they can get access.
So be it, then. Latam too. The people will suffer for the money chasers. We’re going to have to find a way to work together.
