I know it’s a meme thing, but can someone explain the globalism part?

My understanding of globalism was as a contrast to nationalism, I’m not in support of what’s right for my country, I’m in support of what’s right for the world. Wouldn’t that inherently be a huge threat to a nationalist fascist regime?

I’d assume for the purpose of this meme “globalism” means global player companies, i.e. google, microslop, shell and so on… not globalism as a wholistic approach to humanist values or something like that…

Also, I’m under the impression that globalism was a Democrat value, and the Republicans were into “America First”.

“Globalism” is also often used as a dog whistle by antisemites, so there’s that as well.

To be fair, as soon as anyone reads “Trusts trump” it’s a very safe assumption that the person in question is a fuckwit, I know hundreds of these people. They don’t know what words mean. That said it’s probably just a mistake in the meme.

Like many human endeavors, it has a good side and a bad side. This meme seems to concentrate on its worse qualities: unchecked capitalism without social safety nets. And that is what is promoted by the modern fascists

When the actual fascist movement started in Italy, Mussolini almost called his movement capitalism because it promoted a controlled form of capitalism. Run by cronies of the state.

And while modern American fascism has a broad protection streak, where only a small amount of wealthy in the USA should control goods, it still mostly honors the worst of the global economy.
