I wish I had the emotional stamina to practice the harp. These legends are incredible and I wish I could be half as good as them
It’s fun to just mess around with though. The floor I think is really low, but the ceiling is actually quite high. Like, I can hand it off to my kiddos and they have a lot of fun just huffing and puffing, and sometimes, it doesn’t sound all that bad if they do it with some rhythm. But if you want to make the thing sing, it’s so much harder then it looks.

Sing Song Kitty by Doc Watson
Rude and Rambling Man by Doc Watson and friends on Pete Seeger’s public access show Rainbow Quest. The harmonica doesn’t really stand out much, but it’s there adding a layer of depth to the fiddle which is neat and not something I hear often
Edit: also Bob Dylan has a lot of harmonica heavy songs, but I’m not a fan so I couldn’t tell you which ones are worth listening to
Second edit: also Woody Guthrie has a bunch of songs with harmonica as well, if you’re not sick of old folk music
Doc Watson is great. I would also put his talent at finger picking guitar up with folk legends like John Fahey
And he’s good at the banjo and has the most unique voice! That entire episode of Rainbow Quest is great, he and Pete are just chopping it up and telling funny stories
Doc Watson seems cool, definitly putting him on the list.
