me at 6 years old playing on my tablet trying to ignore the little pop up with my full government name spelled 3 times wrong and then a very ominous message (it happened every 15 minutes)
in iran at some point basically all the computers were infected with israeli worms trying to reach nuclear reactor systems. the amount of viruses just floating around was crazy. it’s a lot better now but people still have fucked up phones because everyone is trying to install free VPNs and instead get android viruses.
one reason why north korea doesnt allow connection with their internet
I put malware on the family computer once, trying to “install a video codec” to watch a video about Xbox or halo or something. Then it very embarrassingly put porn all over the place 💀
My brother also installed malware but he was trying to get free minecraft stuff (idk, don’t ask).
A child… in the 2010s…

The porn pop up viruses in the early 2000’s was absolutely insane. It would flood my family computer with all kinds of extreme pornography, even stuff like beastiality. Just a non stop stream of popups with the most explicit content possible and they’d keep popping up until your computer would crash (back then each pop up was a separate window)
bad day to be a stick of ram lmao
I mean that stuff is pretty tame compared to the fully legalized skinner box gambling addictions that every mobile app adopted instead of just giving you more in-game currency.
Yeah, they don’t need to make malware that infects your computer anymore since they found out people will pay for it.
in ~2001 i used a password from a warez site on a porn website and the site told me the cops were gonna arrest me. when that didn’t happen i learned not to be afraid of stuff like that
The internet was not available in homes when I was 6. The NES came out though so that was cool.
