    https://uruky.com/search?q=%25s

So, I need to pay 5€ per month? That is A LOT and I hope it will go down soon.

Also anonymity is a big challenge. MetaGer is also paid and they offer a browser extension to anonymously generate tokens somehow, so that your searches are probably not linked to your full payment information.

Is it a lot? I know it’s relative and does add up but that’s like 2 coffees.

Yeah I tried MetaGer some time ago but didn’t hook me in, can’t remember why

Yes but I pay that for a VPN that tunnels ALL my traffic, vs a search engine that retrieves a bit of text and a few images for me.

Different workloads, but I also pay my VPN anonymously, unlike such a search engine.

EUSP is the joint venture company (a business partnership between Ecosia and Qwant). Staan is the product (the actual search index/database) developed by EUSP to provide the data.

I just refer to EUSP index 🤷

      It’s not just for AI.

Ecosia / Qwant have been integrating it but afaik now only for Germany / France (for now) https://blog.ecosia.org/launching-our-european-search-index/ so other people shouldn’t have access to it through them

Ok I am trying to get infos and none available. Qwant doesnt say and there is also no change in the search URL wether I switch to germany or not? Maybe on german language?

Ecosia doesnt offer it to me at all

The resulting search string has the parameter “method=index” 🤔

        https://www.ecosia.org/search?method=index&ar=1&q=QUERY

How is Uruky in practice? I’ve been using DDG and Qwant, but the results often feel lacklustre.

I’ve been using it for a couple months now, and I really like it and don’t feel like I’m missing on anything.

Depends on the search index you use. I think EUSP is better than bing (which is what DDG and Qwant uses or used) or at least it’s close. The good thing I like about Uruky, that was mentioned in article, is you can cycle through the available indexes rather easily and on top of that use 3 web fallback engines so if you can’t find something you can always go to ecosia / qwant with 1 button click and your search query will be auto-inserted there.

Interesting, thanks for posting. Can it search for images and videos also?
