Twitter needs to be killed. Any place where unscientific or nazi takes get popular is a danger.

You just condemned substack, and a bunch of places consider socialist content “fascist.” I agree x is fash af but a lot of stuff gets posted there we otherwise wouldn’t get to read.

Sorry, I’m just deeply allergic to people who speak without knowing what they’re talking about as Mao condemned. It has gotten people I know killed. I don’t deny there’s valuable stuff in those websites, maybe it would be better if we just incarcerated spreaders of bullshit and reactionary thought. We need to seize the state to do that of course.

I hear you. It’s a dual-edged sword, no need to apologize. I get it and somewhat agree. Unfortunately, we’re not there yet.

Great, that’s the only way I look at Twitter accounts as it actually sorts in reverse chronological order, and so many links to art are just gone too.

Isn’t nitter/xcancel the thing that allows you to see posts and stuff without being logged in? Whereas Twitter (prior to Elon “wannabe nazi” Musk takeover) already allowed you to do that by design? Does he just want a more insular Nazi platform? Why go to so much effort to make it difficult for people to view the website. I mean, I have a vague memory of web scraping for AI being an excuse made as to why the insularity, but that wouldn’t explain going after a different website that is hosted separately?

I think it’s to get more people to make an account and sign in. Textbook enshittification now that the platform has become big and influential.

It’s this. Having the ability to view a post and then bail without being tracked is unhelpful for the platform, because there’s no way to get hooks into you. He wants to force people to use accounts and engage with the platform so that the site can deliver Nazi content to them.

Money. A lot of Nazis own “leftist” publications, and don’t care, as long as they extract wealth from anyone possible, whether from data brokers, ads, or anything else.
