Who TF spends 1500€+ on a phone?
The utterly deranged.
I keep posting that the zfold and zflip 8 is gonna be the last good foldable generation from Samsung because this cycle crap is what happens every time Apple finally catches up:
- Small OEM makes some sick hardware advancement
- Samsung applies cool hardware into a secondary product
- Everyone is happy and enjoying product
- Several years pass
- POS Apple finally catches up with the hardware standard and releases their next iphone for a morbillion dollar price tag
- A shifu ton of Apple users buy it as usual
- Samsung marketing makes fun of Apple for two months
- Samsung execs see all the Apple money and then copy Apple’s POS hardware spec for the next generation of their product
- Repeat
I still remember when Galaxy was the flagship of Android and made the iphone look like a joke Chinese knockoff in comparison and now it’s just an iphone clone with equally crappy software to match.
Apple, Apple slop buyers, Samsung, and especially Google can all go screw themselves.
Are people still fans of corporations these days?
I just popped in to say IMAGINE being a fan of a publicly traded company. They’d stomp your balls and punch your tits for an extra dime if they could. Any company with more than one shareholder is not your fucking friend.
Your dads construction company? Fine. Anything that has more than one shareholder? Probably would kill you and cover it up if it cost less than it gained them.
Hang on, that’s really cheap for S&M. Or so I’m told. By other people.
a fan of billionaire owned sports team, i never understood that at all.
i play a variety of sports but don’t watch any, aside from occasionally cheering friends competing in local events
the only thing a public company hates more than their own customers are they people they employ
People?

Small businesses are often worse, since there’s less oversight, more willingness to gamble on ‘risks’, a need for higher margins to stay afloat and generally fewer different interests at stake. The issue is private ownership in itself, not how that private ownership is structured.
Knowing some small local business owners I’d say that the problem is that the business reflects the owner’s personality - so you can have a place that respects both its customers and employees or a shithole owned by person too high up their own arse, which is often the case with IT firms.
Made a mistake of working at one, with owners boasting “we were the first ones to do X thing in our market”, whilst the office was a musty basement in middle of nowhere.
Nowadays if I know that certain business is owned by person or group of people I don’t like (be that due to their personal values or affiliations with certain politicians or whatever) I make sure to avoid supporting that business and I spread the message to friends and colleagues.
Yes and it’s embarrassing
I remember a guy i worked with who would say at least 10 times a day: if you don’t have an iphone, you don’t have an iphone. That was tge commercial at the time. It was so odd.
Tribalism is baked in, we’re tribal about all kinds of stuff
Fuck you, I’m team non-tribalism!
No, fuck you, I’m on a even more non-tribalistic team!
Sadly, yes
This is going to be like the notch again right? Marketing hides the crease, everyone is surprised when they get one and there is a crease. Outrage, but then no one cares and continues to use the phone.
I refuse to buy phones with holes in screen, my previous phone was redmi k30 ultra, now switched to nubia z70, exactly cause of that reason. So when apple released iphone with that big eyebrow I laughed manically, cause like, who would buy that shit?..
Then they released laptop with same eyebrow notch, that literally served zero purpose (under it only single small camera, no sensors that would require that size of cut in the screen), after that I stopped laughing. It’s not funny anymore, it’s terrifying. It’s like, apple audience trained to buy whatever apple sells them or something. And they will defend it furiously, scary shit.
If Steve Jobs comes back to life, he’d be hunting all the people responsible for designing the current crop of Apple products.
But Apple used AI to select the best fitting parts for each individual articulating hinge and frame pairing to keep constant support/tension on the display to allow for a perfectly flat display when open.
They did actually do that according to the hogwash in their event…but it’s still gonna crease.
I’ll wait to see what jerryrigeverything says (I’m expecting a slaughter)
This is the way
Fuck that, you still spying through TVs like a perv, Samsung?
Screen cover designed by Apple btw
