At least two people were arrested Wednesday for alleged fraud and misuse of millions of dollars in taxpayer money that was intended to combat the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles, officials announced.

What is annoying to me is, why isn’t something in place to audit these people initially? There are no real gaurd rails in place to deter people from fraud…and then what happens to the money when these people are caught? Sending them to jail is the right call but that ALSO being on the taxpayers dime feels kinda crazy to me. So is the money just gone and that’s it?
