Following his removal as an opener from Ed Sheeran’s tour, Macklemore has announced a series of headline performances under the banner “Free Palestine.”
The run will kick off in October with arena shows in Dublin, Paris, and London, with additional cities — including stops in the United States — expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Each show will feature Macklemore alongside artists and friends for performances intended to raise humanitarian aid and awareness for Palestine and Palestinians. As such, all proceeds from the concerts will benefit organizations including Anera, Glia, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Taawon, HEAL Palestine, Palestinian Youth Movement, Middle East Children’s Alliance, Jewish Voice for Peace, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Institute for Middle East Understanding, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and UNRWA USA.
This is genius. Macklemore’s star had significantly faded from the “Thrift Shop” days, but now he’s headlining a massive tour that will draw top-tier talent and massive crowds. Meanwhile, Sheeran looks like a complete douche. Mack is back!

I wonder what problems they’ll have getting venues to host this tour, particularly in the US, where Live Nation runs ticketing, promotion, and venues as a near-monopoly.
I mean i see that as an even bigger win for both macklemore and people who like concerts. Live Nation and ticketmaster absolutely suck, so if they refuse to carry the shows, that will mean that smaller non-ticketmaster venues will get more business and it will be a better experience for everyone. Plus less money to zionists.

Would be funny is Ed Sheeran does an opener for one of those shows.
Would be even funnier if Ed gets booted off of that due to the backlash.
I think if Sheeran offered to do an opener, Macklemore would accept since it’s about Palestine and not either of them.
This comment, and my subsequent search, is how I learned Ed Sheeran is an artist, I thought he was a promoter based on what I had heard on the new previously.
I wonder if he’ll tell everyone not to vote against Trump in 2028?
