Yeesh! Thought I’d get myself ready by reading the comments.
I wasn’t ready.
What a strange collection of…this. I would say ideas, or talking points, or…idk. It doesn’t even meet the bar for those.
The thing I find irritating is that I can’t tell if it’s this way because the “schlock” dial is simply turned up to 11, or if there’s actually a somewhat coherent thing here for some audience that I simply (blessedly!) lack the built-in worldview/assumptions to even be able to parse.
The fuck is this lol
The favorite pastime of the centrist liberal, being extremely smug and condescending while simultaneously being wrong about everything.
Being in an HOA makes you socialist, according to Newsweek
Did they have actual results? I didn’t see any on the archived link and no way am I going to their site
No, it just says each “yes” answer is a point for socialism, there’s no internet-quiz-automatic-tally
So it is just as bad as expected. Ty!
As a true socialist, I am unable to click the link because vuvuzuela no iPhone
You can feel dangerous levels of :smuglord: weeping off this link
I wasn’t quite ready for how awful that one was. My gods that is bad. A stark majority of those questions have absolutely nothing to do with socialism.

Get real. If the wait line for a book is 14 weeks, I guarantee it’s not gonna cost $16. New releases are often like $30 these days, and it’s pretty rare that new releases have wait times that long at least in my neck of the woods. Can someone confirm if NYPL wait times are even that long?
The only books for which I’ve ever had a wait of over 4 weeks are either textbooks or obscure books that have been out of print for a long time, stuff that they have to transfer from another library or library system. Am I just lucky?
It’s still wild, completely unsurprising, but wild how ebooks are the same price as physical books these days
I typically don’t pay for digital content. Indie literature is one exception for me, where a lot of authors publish their own ebooks. They’re typically affordable and the whole amount goes to the author.
It’s really silly that publishers want $20 for an ePub.
Yeah partner does that a lot. But I get sad every time I’m browsing for something related to what I’m reading and see the hardcopy vs digital version prices (non indie).
There’s been a couple where the digital was same price as the Hardcover while the paperback was cheapest of the 3
My main qualm with libraries is that they are only open when I’m working.
Some of the questions are kind of silly but nobody but a rigid ideologue would object to all of these. Lots of people would agree to most of them, especially if you exclude the jokes. The tone suggests they are trying to mock socialists but the content is very weak. Embarrassing for the three authors who wrote this “News Article”.

What’s the obsession with Starbucks?
starbucks is basically the brand version of expensive cafe that people associate hipsters/liberals going to to spend way too much money on coffee. it’s just “skip the avocado toast to afford healthcare!!” brainrot but with the additional brainrot of needing a brand to point to specifically
