I don’t know what millennial needs to hear this, but throw away the box your phone came in. You don’t need it. You will never need it.

I save the boxes for stuff in case I need to return it. Or for some stuff if I may want to resell it. But I try to keep that to a minimum, and purge regularly.

My greatest generation grandpa saved the boxes for everything, with the receipt and notes about it.

He also put notes inside battery compartments about when they were last changed. Where the batteries were purchased and for how much.

They tend to be nicely made boxes, so I keep them with my tools to hold stuff. One box holds drill bits, another one holds driver bits, one holds my hole saw stuff, etc.

The whole keeping all the boxes thing seems to me like it applies to boomers more than millennials. I don’t have the space (nor the desire) to be keeping any boxes, while my parents have boxes from things they bought in 1985.
