[Tobi Gruener] Initial test runs on a wet track at Silverstone using “spray guards” have not been successful. Mick Schumacher was running the prototype “wet weather package” on a Mercedes. A McLaren driven by Oscar Piastri was used as a reference car.
I think most of the spray is from the ground effect, no?
I reckon so. Still, full wets can displace up to 85 liters/second (at 300 kph), so reducing tire spray would probably have helped some.
